UNESCO Global Geoparks Workshop on valorization of water

The mission of the UNESCO Global Geopark network is to "promote the links between geological heritage and all other aspects of the area’s natural and cultural heritage, clearly demonstrating that geodiversity is the foundation of all ecosystems and the basis of human interaction with the
landscape." Geodiversity is defined as the variety of geological, geomorphological, pedological and hydrological phenomena.

As the term GEODIVERSITY includes hydrological phenomena we would like to warmly invite you to our workshop to identify the importance of water resources and associated Geopark activities in the Global Geopark network.

The aim of the workshop is to discuss about responsibilities and tasks of UNESCO Global Geoparks in regard to the valorisation and protection of the natural resource water and to create a starting point for closer cooperation within the GGN on water related topics.
