DIGITAL 9th International Conference on UNESCO Global Geoparks Jeju island, Republic of Korea 12-16 December 2021
The DIGITAL 9th International Conference on UNESCO Global Geoparks will be held from 12th to 16th December 2021.
The Conference, with the main theme: “FUN Geopark” is organised by Jeju Island UNESCO Global Geopark, Republic of Korea.
The Conference will be preceded by the Meetings of the 3rd GGN Ordinary General Assembly and the GGN Advisory Committee Meeting.
During the Conference will be organized the elections for the GGN Executive Board and the GGN Advisory Committee Chair and Vice Chair.
A special session is dedicated to the 1st Youth Forum where youth representatives from all around the world will meet, discuss and elect their representatives.
On December 13th will be organised the APGN Coordination Committee meeting.
With the Opening Ceremony and the keynote speeches on December 14th will open the scientific sessions of the Conference.
The scientific sessions will be run from December 14th to December 16th in parallel rooms. A workshop on Education will be organized by GGN Working Group on Education on December 15th.
During the Conference the participants will have the opportunity to participate in virtual trips and explore the beauties of Jeju Island UNESCO Global Geopark. Participants will also have the opportunity to have a tour at the Virtual Exhibition.
The closing ceremony of the Conference will be held on December 16th accompanied by the GGN Certification Ceremony, the announcement of the GGN Honorary Members, the Film Festival Awards and the 10th International Conference on UNESCO Global Geoparks 2023 announcement.
During the Conference from 12th to 16th of December will be running the 1st Film Festival, presenting videos by 62 Geoparks from 27 countries around the world (https://filmfest.globalgeoparksnetwork.org/videoscomp).
